Heat treatment is essential for enhancing the mechanical performance of seamless pipes by refining their microstructure and relieving internal stresses.

Key Heat Treatment Processes:

  • Normalizing:
    • Involves heating the pipe above its critical temperature (A3/Acm range) and air cooling.
    • Effect: Improves ductility and refines grain structure.
    • Applications: Structural piping, oil & gas transportation.
  • Quenching & Tempering:
    • Rapid cooling (quenching) followed by controlled reheating (tempering).
