Research and application of electric arc furnace steelmaking composite blowing technology

in 2002,hengyang valin steelas one of the project r&d teams, proposed and developed a new generation of electric arc furnace smelting technology for the first time, "electric arc furnace steelmaking composite blowing technology", with the goal of high efficiency, low consumption, energy saving and high-quality production of electric arc furnace steelmaking. with new technologies such as clustered oxygen supply, synchronous long-life bottom blowing stirring, and efficient waste heat recovery as the core, the technical integration of intelligent blowing of electric arc furnace steelmaking has been realized. the power supply is combined with a variety of clustered oxygen supply methods (buried, furnace wall, furnace top) to optimize the energy supply; gas and powder mixed injection to strengthen the stirring of the molten pool; dynamic control of furnace energy supply and flue gas waste heat recovery. in 2011, the project completed innovative research and realized engineering application.
1) the engineering application of electric arc furnace steelmaking composite blowing technology has been realized, ensuring efficient, high-quality, environmentally friendly and low-cost production, so that the main technical and economic indicators of electric arc furnace steelmaking in my country have reached the international advanced level.
2) through the research on bottom blowing element preparation technology, bottom blowing process optimization design and full-process early warning technology with redundant function, the safety and longevity problem of bottom blowing in electric arc furnaces has been solved, and the bottom blowing life has been synchronized with the furnace service, and the bottom blowing life has exceeded 750 furnaces; various forms of injection technologies such as furnace wall cluster modular energy supply, furnace top cluster oxygen supply and furnace wall embedded oxygen supply have been developed, realizing multi-mode and multi-point oxygen supply in electric arc furnace steelmaking, and improving and developing the cluster jet technology for electric arc furnace steelmaking.
3) the integrated control of the electric arc furnace steelmaking composite blowing unit operation has been realized, including: electric arc furnace steelmaking composite blowing integrated method, electric arc furnace molten steel terminal temperature and composition prediction, electric arc furnace steelmaking composite blowing control technology, and matching of composite blowing process with flue gas waste heat recovery.
4) the full-scale model of the three-phase equivalent coupling of "gas-slag-metal" of the electric arc furnace has been established, and the coupling law of oxygen jet, electromagnetic field and bottom blowing stream on the stirring intensity of the molten pool has been mastered, and the mathematical expression of the coupling relationship has been derived.
5) the research has improved the manufacturing and process level of electric arc furnace equipment in my country and promoted the technological progress of electric arc furnace steelmaking.
